Appointments

writing_in_diaryAppointments can be booked over the phone or by visiting the surgery.
It’s our intention to offer appointments with the doctor or nurse of your choice on your preferred day & time. Our receptionist will ask the nature of the problem in order to offer you an appropriate appointment. If you do not like to discuss your problem please inform our reception that it is personal.
Surgery appointments are normally for 10 minutes, if you have a problem that you suspect may take longer than usual, please ask the receptionist to book a double appointment.
We try to keep to time and on occasions the doctor or nurses may be delayed or called out on an emergency. At these times our receptionist will update you of any delay in your appointment. At present we operate on the following appointment systems:
1. Same day appointments
Please ring us in the morning for your same day appointment. Since these are in high demand and they get booked quickly we would encourage you to call early when the surgery opens. If a same day appointment is not available, you can book in for a Telephone appointment.
2. Telephone Appointments

Telephone appointments are generally available in the mornings and afternoons. A doctor or nurse will telephone you back, preferably after morning surgery and before the afternoon surgery. This is generally for those appointments where a doctor or nurse may not need to examine you for discussing your problem. Please ask the receptionist about this.

All telephone conversations are kept highly confidential and may be recorded for training and security purposes..
3. Pre-book able Appointments
The surgery offers 3 pre-bookable appointments slots on every clinic. These are non urgent appointments and can be booked with the doctor of your choice in advance.
Missed Appointments
Each time an appointment is missed you are preventing someone else from attending so please ring in and cancel if you are in any way unable to attend at your appointed time. If the surgery is closed you can cancel by leaving your name, date of birth & appointment details on our answering machine.
Please remember an appointment is for one person only. We encourage patients to see the same doctor each time they make an appointment. This is best for both the doctor and patient in providing continuity of care. In the absence of a surgery doctor we try to cover the clinics with our regular Locum Doctor.
